The brainchild of Iowa's Julie Ghrist, Art of Conservation has been working in Rwanda for the last 7 years to bring creative environmental education to impoverished communities on the edges of Volcanoes National Park. The final stronghold of the critically endangered mountain gorilla, the area is hugely popular with tourists, whose entry fee goes towards safeguarding their survival.
