The rescue of Angelo, an 18 year old (approx) male Sumatran orangutan (Pongo abelii) from a patch of rubber plantation in Langkat district, North Sumatra. He was rescued by members of the Human Orangutan Conflict Response Unit (HOCRU), a division of the Orangutan Information Centre (OIC), an NGO that strives to protect the Sumatran orangutan by protecting existing forest, replanting degraded areas, rescuing animals that are under threat and working with government to ensure their protection.
